This bird is clearly ringed on the right leg. Three-banded Plover is a very rare bird in Egypt and a ringed one even more so. Any information where this bird was ringed (offspring from local breeding?)?
The mystery of this ringed bird has been solved. This bird was part of a pair that was ringed on May 3rd 2012 by a German team of researchers. Breeding could not be proven but the birds clearly held a territory. See the latest article in Dutch Birding magazine 35-01.
