I got the interest to birds already in my childhood when exploring in the nature in Kainuu near Kajaani where I grew until I started my engineering studies at Oulu University. Since then I have been birding, participating to various breeding bird Atlas work, ringing, spending time at bird observatories by watching and counting migration, making annually several birding trips in various countries, photographing, etc. Nowadays I spend in Finland most of my spare time in addition of Turku area at Hanko where I have my seaside residence. I'm mainly dedicated to watch and photograph birds.
