Rovfugleobservatører søges
GCCW, our affiliate in Georgia, is looking for observers with good raptor identification skills to take part in their participatory autumn raptor migration monitoring along the eastern coast of the Black Sea in the surrounding of Batumi. The observations will take place from 1 September to 15 November at three observation places. Two foreign observer will be accompanied by local hosts who should be also trained in identification of species during the observations. Observers are encouraged to stay for at least two weeks, but this is negotiable, of course. The local costs (food
and accommodation) are about 10 USD a day plus $10-$20 per day for travel is optional if the
volunteer wants to travel back and forth among watchsites or elsewhere. Observers will be accommodated at the houses of local observers in order to increase benefits of the initiative for the local economy and encourage local conservation efforts.
For further details please contact Lexo Gavashelishvili at lexo@mymail.ge and Ramaz Gokhelashvili at Ramaz_Gokhelashvili@dai.com (send your messages to both addresses as they can be away for field work).
