Hereby September 2013 Danish Bird News:

The 7th Olive-backed Pipit was photographed and well twicthed in the Waddensea at Mandø, Vestjylland on 29th. A dark morph Booted Eagle flew in from sea from Falsterbo, Sweden at Stevns Klint, Sydsjælland on 11th and was rediscovered 100 km. SW at Hyllekrog, Lolland on 12th attempting to migrate out to sea towards Germany. A 2nd-cal Steppe Eagle flew in from sea from Falsterbo, Sweden at Stevns Klint, Sydsjælland on 25th. Up to three Glossy Ibis were found in Jylland: On 3rd at Vesløs Vejle, Nordjylland, on 17th near Ribe, Vestjylland and on 28th-30th (an adult) near Horsens, Østjylland. The drake Ruddy Duck remained at Odense Fjord, Fyn during 3rd-29th. The 1st winter female Bufflehead remained at Dueodde, Bornholm during 7th-29th (yet another category D candidate). An escaped adult male American Kestrel was in urban northern Copenhagen during 12th-13th. An Alpine Swift was near Korsør, Vestsjælland on 17th.

Other September records include one Great Northern Diver, one summer plumaged White-billed Diver, just one juvenile Black Stork, one adult Black Brant, a Ferruginous Duck x Pochard hybrid, 32 Red-crested Pochards, the returning, ringed female Hooded Merganser, a Lesser Spotted Eagle, a 1st-cal Pectoral Sandpiper, a Marsh Sandpiper, nine Great Snipes including a near record five at Boller Enge, Nordjylland on 4th, two Grey Phalaropes, just one 1st winter Sabine's Gull, seven Yellow-legged Gulls including a juvenile with a German color ring, just two adult Baltic Gulls at Bornholm, two Hoopoes, three Crested Larks remaining at the sole breeding site at Hirtshals, Nordjylland, 16 Richard's Pipits from 9th, just two Tawny Pipits, one Siberian Stonechat, a 1st-winter River Warbler ringed, a Great Reed Warbler, just three 1st winter Barred Warblers, a Greenish Warbler, a new Danish record 32 Yellow-browed Warblers at the great Blåvand area, Vestjylland on 28th, 24 Nutcrackers from 5th, a Little Bunting and just one Ortolan Bunting.
