We are still hoping for more comments by experienced foreign birders on the two unidentified warblers, tentatively named Blyth's Reed and Syke's Warbler. Pictures of these birds are at http://www.hi.is/~gunnaha/photos.html, and at http://www.galdur.is/fuglar (undir "Hippolais ?" and "Elrisöngvari", the last-named being the Blyth's Reed).
There are still extreme rarities turning up in Iceland. Yesterday found the third Icterine Warbler Hippolais icterina for Iceland at Eyrarbakki (S) and the second Eurasian Reed Warbler Acrocephalus scirpaceus this autumn at Stokkseyri (S). Both these birds were twitched by unusual crowds (>10!) of Icelandic birders. Also the supposed Blyth's Reed Warbler was
seen at Sudursveit (SE).
More information about this very unusal warbler vagrancy in Iceland see; http://www.hi.is/~yannk/index-eng.html
Kommentarer kan sendes til Gaukur Hjartarson.
