Hereby July 2013 Danish Bird News,

The calling male Ballion's Crake remained at Lille Vildmose, Nordjylland during 25th June to 4th July.

A juvenile probably escaped Steller's Sea Eagle was at Skagen, Nordjylland during 25th-31st alongside a Danish record flock of 180 Red Kites before returning south west. A flock of 3 1cy Marsh Sandpiber were at Tønder, Sønderjylland during 28th-29th. A drake Blue-winged Teal was at Køge, Sydsjælland during 7th-15th. A summer plumaged American Plover was at Astrup Engsø, Sønderjylland on 8th.

Other July records included a 1st summer Shag, a record 188 Spoonbills at Filsø, Vestjylland on 25th, a rare migrating drake King Eider on 16th, a now very rare drake Ruddy Duck, no less than three breeding pairs of Ospreys (two chicks were eaten by Eagles Owls), two adult Pectoral Sandpipers, an unidentified Pratincole sp., six White-winged Black Terns, two Nutcrackers, the year's first Rose-colored Starling, and some 500 mainly 1cy Two-barred Crossbills allready from 13th including up to 73 at Nordmandshage, Nordjylland on 26th.
