Hi,
A Brunnich's Guilemot was found in Lille, Belgium at the 5th of august. The bird was found by a farmer in a meadow 100km inland!!!
We don't know if this species is kept in captivity in Belgium but chances are very low and I'm pretty sure that there are definetly no birds of the species in aviaries in the surrounding villages.
All in all a very rare and strange observation. Would the rule 'Anything can turn up Anywhere' comply with this?
A Brünnich's Guillemot was seen migration towards southeast at Lista on the southern tip of Norway on 4th of august. The date is very unusual for records of this species on the norwegian coast of the North Sea. The record from Belgium migth be seen in relation to the norwegian record.
