Formerly Ruffs were so common that they
were caught on the arenas in horse hair
snares. They were also shot for
collections of colourful ruffs.
NOW arenas are extremely rare in DK, on
the verge of extinction like those of
Danish Black Grouse (Urfugl).

migrate south from Northern arenas.
