When visiting the Roman ruins of Timgad in Algeria I had the chance to see a pair of black wheatears catching insects for their young.
On this combination of pictures, the female (sooty brown plumage) is seen standing in three different positions for comparison with the darker male (black plumage) that is flying.
Since birding gear is forbidden in Algeria for security reasons, I only had my compact superzoom camera to take a few shots... |
