In order to see and identify Kelp Gull in Knifiss Lagoon you have to hire a boat to take you near the spot. We saw 2 birds which we identified as Kelp and several Great Black-backed Gulls.

In short: Kelp Gull has a mirror only on P10, broad white trailing edge along the secondaries and the inner half of the primaries, olive legs and dark eye.
