Picture information:
Bird species (IOC): Short-tailed Shearwater (Puffinus tenuirostris) - species factsheet
Voice: Voices can be found here (external link).
Location: Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia
Date: 27th November 2010
Picture info: Compared to Sooty Shearwater, this shearwater roams the seas in swarms and can not bee lured by chumming. It resembles Sooty, but hence the name it is remarkably short tailed. It also glides swiftly using less but powerfull wingbeats, giving the impression of a Needle-tailed Swift of the seas.
