Older bird with a large casque. Southern Cassowary is a notorioulsy difficult bird to see but at Etta bay, five differetn birds were seen fouraging at the beach of this small cosy beach village. It is indeed extreemely easy here, and during our one night-stay, we almost always had a cassowary in sight. They are known to bee very aggressive kicking birds, but here they are used to people, so watch your food at the picknic table. They are fearless in their persuit of goodies. We had to fight them off with tables and tripods.
