Cassowary is a much respected Australian bird and as a result of increased traffic killings, roads through areas of protected rainforrest are often subject to heavy speed reducing facilities and information signs.
We spottet these birds as they were fouraging in the roadside. The chick struggeled to eat a small snake, which was a treat to watch. Before long the road was clogged with cars with equally enthusiastic Australians. After 10 thrilling minutes the birds finally crossed and wandered of into the forest.
