This bird is one of 7 Egyptian Plovers seen 2 km upstream from the Gibe River Bridge.
The species is fairly common at Omo/Gibe River during the rainy season from June to September-October.
Other times of year it is rare, the birds are then found much further downstream, where the Gibe River is called Omo River.
Note: Do not search for this species from the Gibe River bridge itself, without asking permission from the police or army guards at the checkpoint near the Bridge!
