Surely this is a Tawny Eagle! A Brown Snake Eagle would show a bigger head/relatively smaller bill (note also the Aquila-hackles on the nape!)and would not show such a marked contrast between upperwing coverts and flight-feathers. Note also the prominent barring on one of the secondaries sticking out! The feet cannot be seen well enough in this image, but the long toes support Aquila, not Circaetus (which also would have a bare tarsus against feathered in Aquila).
Hi Dick.
Thanks for detecting my mistake. It's a little embarrassing to admit this, but I have come to mix two pictures without noticing it. I will ask Netfugl to correct the name of this picture and upload the right one instead.
Best regards Michael
Netfugl bedes rette artsnavnet til Tawny Eagle.
