Near Mehrangarh Fort in the Rao jodha Dessert Rock Park. The Booted eagle can be seen almost daily at or near the fort. At 3.30pm every single day more than 200 kites (Which were sacred to the ruling Rathore dynasty) are fed from the ramparts of the Fort when several kilos of meat are thrown to the birds. Often eagles and buzzards arrive at the same time and use the confusion as cover to attack the thousands of pigeons living in the walls of the fort. |
