The only place in Mexico to see this bird. Sometimes a few individuals can be seen from the village. But to be sure to see them or to see more individuals one must sail into the estuary or by car visit the saltpans near Las Coloradas.
Anyone with a boat in the village will take you there for a not so small fee - it's a trip for hours - but worth the while if the boat-person knows birds and is villing to stop and show you (try asking for Diego Nuñes - he is a good guide). |
