This ad. Viking Gull shows markings on the primaries similar to what you could see on a weak marked Kumliens gull, note the darker markings on the primaries not reaching the wing tips, the grayish trailing egde on the secondaries rather than white, and the grayish tail feathers contrasting against the white rump, in the photo in the lower right corner the same bird was seen before the sunset, note that the tail here seems almost as white as the rump and the markings on the primaries shows really well in this light conditions.
If this bird was seen further away and in sunny conditions it would defenatly pass by as a Glaucous Gull. |
