A 1st for Turkey and WP! Grey-headed Lapwing at Unesco heritage canditate site, K?z?l?rmak delta. The bird was stayed only a half day on 11th of March and despite of many others arrived next day, it couldn't relocated! The bird first found by Mustafa Akca's wife on a weekend trip and than he sent the photos to Ozden Saglam and Birol Hatino?lu via whatsapp for identification. They showed me the photos and i said "OH, NO WAY, GREY HEADED LAPWING!" and flew to the site. Luckily, We were only 3 kilometers away with a crow flight. Got amazing views and the bird before it dissappeared! ???? I can't upload it here, with lack of this species on the list, hoping you can add and manage to add it later here. Best, Emin |
