The bird is present in Iceland so it is likely to be a 'faeroeensis' - but to me it looks a lot like ssp. gallinago. This and other individuals seen this summer did not show much more 'maroon' on chest and sides than does the 'gallinago'. Literature also mentiones more narrow white lines on the back - not so obvious here. |
