This ssp. is in recent guide-books split into the new full species White-headed Stilt; Himanotopus leucocephalus (i.e. The Australian Bird Guide, 2017).
One obvious feature is the ridge-like black part of the neck - and no black on top of the head or chins. Often mixed with Banded Stilt's. |
