Yet another tricky iceland gull. The bill is typical 'glaucoides' while the tail is rather dark and the primaries have dark markings on them. It's probably one of those which shouldn't be given any ssp label.
I agree that primaries like these along with the dark tail suggest kumlieni. But on the other hand this almost 'glaucous gull-coloured' bill should not be on a first winter kumlieni at all. A 1. winter kumlieni-bill should range from a slight pale basis to whole black. The question is: Can a L. glaucoides look like this one at all?
My intention was not to suggest kumlieni Silas, I figured that you might be there somehow (no disrespect!).
And yes, dark glaucoides can look like your bird.
As you say, kumlieni often dark-billed, also at this time of year, but some with paler base, perhaps not so clear-cut as your bird. The feathering around it´s bill looks kind of strange.
