| Hi Johan, yes the date is correct.
The Danish Cormorant was doing very bad, and did not seem to be able to either fly or swim. So I tried to catch it in order to help it, and during it’s escape it managed to run/fly a few metres during which the Eel broke in two and the piece hanging out fell off. So it must definitely be different birds.
Apparently this is just what happens when they try to eat something too large…. Btw. the Eel had been dead for several days and the Cormorant had tried the whole day to get it out of the water, where it was floating around. After the eel broke off, part of it was still stuck in the Cormorant's throat, and I doubt that it survived.
