Female taken in Dahu Beach, new breeding site recently discovered by Brian Ivon Jones, approximatively 132 of this recently rediscovered Plover have been counted their and 148 ad + juv and chicks in the adjacent Shanghaizai beach, this spring. The highest previous count for this species was 14 together.
This site support probably more than 95% of the world known population together with Ming Jian Estuary in Fujian province and a site in Hainan island.

Most of the adult as well as this female were moulting, some of the male showing already their colorfull non breeding plumage and white-faced pattern with entirely white lore.
