En fugl skilte sig tydeligt ud fra de overvintrende Hooded Cranes ved at være stor som en Trane og lysegrå, modsat de mørkegrå Hooded Cranes, men samtidigt viste den ansigtstegninger som Hooded Crane.
Can you explain why this is a hybrid with common crane? To me it looks like a Sandhill Crane on the photograph, but I may be mistaken.

Hi Dirk,
other than the ghostly palegrey colour, what was most striking first, was the larger size of the bird, which doesn't really show in this picture, as the bird is more distant, than the Hooded Cranes in fornt, but was comparable to a single Common Crane present.
The extent of white on the neck was like Hooded, reaching slightly further down on the back, than on the front.
