Seen i a mix of mangrove and costal forest.
This is supposed to be ssp. convexus because of the almost all-white undertail. The Hornbills were almost gone from Singapore - now a mix of birds from north of the strait and brids from a local breeding project forms a slowly groving population (50-100 individuals?).. this bird had no ring as most of the breeding project birds have. Pasir Ris is very close to Malaysia where a more robust population is present. |
