North of Mahahual, a few km before the entrance to Sian Ka'an Biosphere.
Borderline between coastal scrub, mangrove and fishermans lot. The Black Catbird is endemic to the Yucatan peninsula. Four shots with focus on jizz... since an encounter might be very breef in future sights. According to local birders it is never common on the mainland (more common on Cozumel Island). Common or un-common.. we saw in 3 weeks on one occation two individuals brefly. They seemed shy and disappered into the un-approachable mangrove by any minor disturbance. In attitude, jizz and size a bit like the North American Grey Catbird. |
