The falcon was breeding in a tree near the club house (golf). Out of nothing it attacked a party of h'eaters active on the ground. Fast and elegant like the European relative. It happened right in front of me; - 15 meters away. I was not any way near getting a picture. It took of for this transmission tower at some distance - with it's prey. Not a good picture due to the distance and the shot beeing hand-held, but so far the only one on 'Netfugl'. Further up the 'tower' a pair of White-bellied Sea-Eagles were nesting.
The bird might be on home-ground if the ssp. is named after the Murchison River reaching the ocean in Kalbarri. |
